About Me

Hi, I’m Miranda Lukatch, and I’ve been editing since 2006. I’ve taken over 16 editing courses and am now a candidate for the prestigious editing certificate from the University of Chicago with a specialization in developmental editing. The University of Chicago Press invented and maintains The Chicago Manual of Style, which is the book and journal industry’s arbiter for all grammar and style decisions, so my training comes from an essential source.

My training has included developmental editing and copyediting; topics in writing such as composition and style, grammar and style, and creative nonfiction; and classes that have specifically taught me how to serve independent authors with respect and efficiency. A list of all my editorial training appears here.

Prior to editing, I graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University with a BA in English. I also received departmental honors by faculty selection and was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the English honors society.

When I’m not editing, I enjoy reading, writing, singing, observing local wildlife, and exploring the Chicago area.

Now that you’ve met me, I’d love to know more about you and your work!
